Leave management software for Tunisia
Your employees file requests, their managers approve, and balances keep themselves. Levia installs the leave types commonly used in Tunisia and the country’s public holidays from day one.
What the leave module does for you
Tunisian leave types, ready to use
When your workspace is created, Levia installs the leave types commonly used in Tunisia: annual, sick, maternity, paternity, marriage, birth, bereavement for a spouse or a parent, family event, unpaid and Hadj. Each one stays editable · label, paid or not, deducted from the balance or not, annual quota, display colour.
One request, one route, one record
The employee files from a browser or a phone; their direct manager, or HR, approves or rejects with a mandatory reason. Nobody approves their own request, and every decision is written to the audit log with its author and timestamp.
Balances nobody recomputes by hand
Accrued, taken, pending and carried over from last year, per employee and per leave type. Entitlement is pro-rated to the hire date, and carry-over is capped by your policy, up to the deadline you set.
Team calendar and public holidays
A monthly view per person shows who is away, with approved requests and those still pending. Tunisian public holidays are imported for the year you choose and removed from the working-day count.
Why the leave spreadsheet always ends up expensive
A shared leave file holds up while the company is small. Past twenty or so employees it starts to lie: a balance copied across wrongly, a request approved by email and never recorded, someone hired mid-year whose entitlement was never pro-rated. The mistake is invisible when it is made and shows up at year end, when balances must be settled.
The real cost is not typing time, it is the conversation: reconstructing who booked what, finding the manager’s agreement, settling a disagreement with no written record. A leave module does not save hours of keystrokes, it removes that entire category of discussion.
Half-days, attachments and medical certificates
A request can start or end on a half-day, morning or afternoon, and the count follows in half-days. Hourly granularity does not exist · the half-day is the smallest unit.
For sick leave, the employee attaches the certificate with the request. The document is not reachable by its address: it goes through a protected route that only allows the requester, their manager and HR. It is health data and it is handled as such.
What HR settles once and for all
Rules live in the organisation settings, not in individual habits: mandatory rejection reason, reason required when an already-approved absence is cancelled, automatic reminders on approvals left waiting, negative balances allowed or blocked, requests on past dates allowed or not.
Three alerts watch, in the background, what nobody looks at: an employee who has not taken leave for too long, a balance about to be lost for lack of use, and a team absence rate above the threshold you set.
Balances export to CSV and Excel, with the period and the type. That is the file your accountant asks for at year end.
Leave talks to the rest of the record
An approved leave is not an isolated event: it removes the day from the attendance count, it appears on the team calendar, and payroll picks it up to tell a paid absence from an unpaid one. That is the whole point of not buying leave from one vendor and payroll from another.
Every notification goes out by email in the recipient’s language · French, English or Arabic · from templates you can rewrite yourself without going through support.

Frequently asked questions
Are Tunisian leave types preconfigured?
Yes. When your organisation is created with Tunisia as its country, Levia installs the usual types: annual, sick, maternity, paternity, marriage, birth, bereavement for a spouse or a parent, unpaid leave and Hadj. You can edit, deactivate or add to all of them.
How many approval levels for a leave request?
One. The request goes to the employee’s direct manager; an HR or admin profile can also decide. Nobody can approve their own request. Two-step routes do exist in Levia, but for HR paperwork requests (certificates, advances, remote work), not for leave.
Do balances carry over from one year to the next?
Yes, automatically at the start of the year, within the number of carry-over days you set and up to the consumption deadline you also set. A summary email is sent once the carry-over has run.
Is entitlement pro-rated for a mid-year hire?
Yes. The balance created for someone who joined during the year is pro-rated to their start date. Levia does not, however, run monthly accrual: entitlement is a pro-rated annual quota, not a counter that increments each month.
Can an employee book a half-day?
Yes, at the start or the end of a request, morning or afternoon. The count is kept in half-days. Hourly leave is not supported.
Can a medical certificate be attached?
Yes, with the request. The file is only visible to the employee concerned, their manager and HR, through a protected route · it is never reachable from a public address.
Are Tunisian public holidays handled?
Yes. You import the country’s public holidays for a given year in one action, then add or remove entries by hand. They are removed from the working-day count of a request.
Is there an Arabic interface?
Yes, in French, English and Arabic, with right-to-left layout for Arabic. Notification emails follow the recipient’s language.
